Blake Shelton Started Writing “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” to Impress Gwen Stefani
BLAKE SHELTON was on yesterday’s “Ellen” and she asked him if it was hard NOT to laugh when he and GWEN STEFANI sang “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” on the “Billboard Music Awards”. Mostly because it’s kind of a breakup song.
He said, quote, “We kind of laughed a few times because we’re singing this song like . . . we’re going to break up. And we’re not breaking up right now.
“When we wrote it, we never saw it going, THERE. I don’t know that we ever really saw it going anywhere. I only started the song to impress her. So I sent it to her and then she wrote the other half.”
He also talked about how most albums have two or three real moments, but “If I’m Honest” is full of his real life ups and downs.
Quote, “The last year of my life has been crazy so I thought if all the magazines are going to cash in on me, I might as well too.”

Dierks Bentley Explains the Importance of Recording Fun Songs
DIERKS BENTLEY says it’s his job to include fun songs on his albums. The main reason is because people need an escape from the daily grind. Quote, “They’re driving to work at six in the morning.
“To be able to put on a song like ‘Somewhere On a Beach’ and transport their mind and take their focus away from their problems for a little bit, or the traffic they’re stuck in. That’s important.”
