Cam Had to Share a Mattress with Her Manager When She Was Starting Out
There’s something about an artist celebrating their first Number One record that makes them reflect on all the crap they had to go through to get there. That’s what CAM did at a #1 party for her song“Burning House”.
Like most young artists, she struggled to pay the bills and buy food, but she also did something I’ve never heard before. She actually had to share a mattress with her manager. They’re still a team so it doesn’t sound like punches were thrown.
And yet, she said the hardest part from those days was dealing with all the self-doubt. Quote, “There are the dark times where you don’t know if what you’re doing is any good, and you don’t know if you’re gonna make it.”
And even if you are really good, and work really hard, there are still no guarantees. She adds, quote, “Music isn’t like a corporate ladder that if you’re at it long enough you get to the manager position.”
Cam’s career might get a huge shot in the arm at Sunday’s ACMs. “Burning House” is up for Single Record of the Year, and Video of the Year. She’s also nominated for New Female Vocalist of the Year.
Nick Jonas is Performing with Kelsea Ballerini at the ACMs
Here’s a surprising collaboration on Sunday’s ACMs. KELSEA BALLERINI will be performing with pop starNICK JONAS. It’s an actual childhood dream come true.
She tells “ET”, quote, “It’s so killer to have one of my favorite artists . . . and someone who I may have had posters on my walls of when I was a preteen . . . be a part of my first-ever, full-out awards show performance.”
He seems a bit excited too. He Tweeted, quote, “Been working on something special for Sunday and now it’s official. I’m joining @KelseaBallerini for a duet at #ACMs on CBS. Don’t miss us.”
Cassadee Pope Wrote a Love Song with Kip Moore
CASSADEE POPE has been writing music for her new album, but she’s not doing it alone. The other day we found out she’s been working with CHRIS YOUNG . . . and now she’s talking about writing with KIP MOORE.
She says, “[I thought] we’d write some sassy up-tempo song about beer, [but] he was like, ‘I really want to write a love song.'”

BLAKE SHELTON has been accused of giving “false testimony” in that defamation suit he filed against “In Touch Weekly”. The original article talked about him partying in a Cancun hotel, but in his lawsuit he swears it “could NOT have occurred” because he didn’t stay there. “In Touch” disagrees because they have an Instagram photo of him in that hotel with his arm around some woman.
