Time to Play the “Six Degrees of Vince Gill”
There’s a music version of “The Six Degrees of KEVIN BACON“, and if you start playing, you may never stop. It’s a website that connects VINCE GILL to other artists and it’s called 6DegreesOfVinceGill.com.
It’s easy to play. They already have his name entered and all you have to do is insert a singer’s name and the results pop right up. And don’t limit yourself to country artists . . . Vince has been on the scene since the 1970s.
The first name I typed in was BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, and Vince was two steps away. Bruce’s song “Human Touch” was performed by Patti Scialfa . . . who composed “Spanish Dancer”, which featured an instrumental performance by . . . Vince Gill.
I also tried Frank Sinatra, Snoop Dogg, Adele, and Weird Al Yankovic, and each of them was two steps away. Even more impressive is that your results can vary. Every time I typed in Bruce Springsteen or Adele I came up with different connections.
According to the site, the average distance from any other artist is about three steps. And they keep it current by updating it every couple of weeks. Again, I warn you. It’s very addictive.
Aaron Tippin is Okay with Ted Cruz Using His Music . . . But That Doesn’t Mean He’s Endorsing Him
AARON TIPPIN’s song “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly” was playing when TED CRUZ took the stage to celebrate his victory in Iowa on Monday. Aaron’s okay with it, but he still felt the need to issue a press release.
He said, quote, “Man, I’m so proud that my song still resonates so loudly in America. I’m not endorsing anyone, but I hope that my song will help get folks out there and do their patriotic duty . . . vote.”
Charles Kelley Covers Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” . . . and Announces Tour Dates
CHARLES KELLEY did a “One Mic, One Take” performance of MILEY CYRUS’s “Wrecking Ball“. Sadly, he didn’t get naked and swing from a wrecking ball.
He also announced a tour to promote his album “The Driver”, which is out Friday. It’ll launch April 9th in Washington D.C. and run through May 6th in Athens, Georgia. His brother JOSH KELLEY is the opener. Dates are at CharlesKelley.com.
DON WILLIAMS has been forced to postpone his 2016 tour because of unexpected hip replacement surgery. Although it’s a postponement, it’s way too early for makeup dates. You can check for updates at Don-Williams.com.
RANDY ROGERS BAND’S “Neon Blues“ video features a couple of cool cameos. There’s WILLY BRAUN of Reckless Kelly, who tries to pick up a girl in a bar only to get slapped in the face. Then William Clark Green gives his best shot, by taking a ton of shots and strikes out. But she likes what she sees when Asleep At The Wheel’s RAY BENSON walks in, because she ends up leaving with him.
