Carrie Underwood Will Be Leaving a “Ginormous Tip” at a Waffle House Tomorrow
I guarantee you there’s going to be at least one Waffle House server this year who’ll be thrilled they worked on Thanksgiving. All they have to do is be lucky enough to wait on CARRIE UNDERWOOD and her family.
She says, quote, “Well get up and go to Waffle House. It’s such a hectic time, and I don’t feel like making breakfast on a day that you’re making so much food anyway. So we order breakfast and leave a ginormous tip.”
Frankie Ballard is Having Shoulder Surgery Next Month
I think it’s safe to say FRANKIE BALLARD will be wearing some kind of shoulder apparatus while he’s opening Christmas gifts. He’s finally going under the knife to repair damage from that stage dive accident earlier this year.
He says, quote, “I’m having shoulder surgery on December 21st. I tore my ligament doing a stage dive in Texas last February, and I’m going to get that fixed up.
“I’m really looking forward to getting that all bandaged up and not [doing] anything but spend some quality time with my family.”
Like a lot of artists, he’s had to miss too many weddings and important family events because of his career . . . so this is a good time of year to leave a block of time open for them. Quote, “The holidays for me are all about family time.
“I’ve got an incredible family that I never get to see. I’ve missed so much. They know how much my career means to me, and they allow me to go and be the workaholic that they never get to see. They support me in that.”
KELSEA BALLERINI brought pop star TORI KELLY out to perform with her on Monday in Los Angeles. They did Tori’s hit “Should’ve Been Us”. (Here’s video. The song starts at 1:47.)
SARA EVANS did a cover of Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance“ at a recent tour stop. It’s not very country. Not that it’s supposed to be.
What Country Stars are Thankful for This Thanksgiving:
KIP MOORE will be sitting at a crowded family table on Thanksgiving. Quote, “I love going home [to see] my five brothers and sisters. It’s a blast just to catch up on their lives. I get so wrapped up with [music] I lose touch with them, so it’s cool to hear about everything going on with them.”
DARIUS RUCKER will be counting his blessings tomorrow. Quote, “Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for all the great things you got, and I always give thanks for the greatest thing I got, and that’s my family.”
This is going to be a very special holiday for DAVID NAIL who’s thankful that he and his wife are about to have twins “any minute.”
JUSTIN MOORE likes to do a “bird and surf” thing on Thanksgiving. Quote, “Obviously you got to have a turkey, that goes without saying. We fry turkeys. But we also started doing fish fries. Where I’m from in Arkansas, fried catfish is huge, so we started doing that and everybody likes it.”
ERIC CHURCH says he’s thankful for his family. And from a career standpoint he’s thankful for his recent success, for his fans . . . and that he’s been given the opportunity to do things his own way.
BROTHERS OSBORNE do something they call the “Misfit Thanksgiving Dinner.” It’s a potluck at their house with 12 to 15 people living in Nashville who, for whatever reasons, aren’t able to get home to their families.
THOMAS RHETT will be focused on one particular dish on his Thanksgiving table. Quote, “I love dressing. I don’t like to put gravy on it. I love it as Plain Jane as it can be possibly be.”
HUNTER HAYES is thankful for his fans who are always there to support his music, and for the “incredibly positive group of people” on his team.
Alan Jackson Signs on as Home for Good Project Ambassador
Alan Jackson is joining forces with Ply Gem Industries to help build 300-plus homes throughout the United States with Habitat for Humanity. The country star has signed on as the official ambassador for Ply Gem’s Home for Good Project.
Ply Gem Industries is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America. Their Home for Good Project, a multi-year initiative, will include a donation to Habitat for Humanity of more than $1 million worth of building products and funds as well as sponsorship of Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz program, which brings together the non-profit and professional builders to build and renovate homes.
As the Home for Good Project ambassador, Jackson will help raise awareness for Habitat for Humanity and support a Nashville-area Home Builders Blitz around the time of the 2016 CMA Music Festival.
“I’m honored to partner with Ply Gem and Habitat for Humanity on their goal to build 300 homes,” Jackson says in a press release. “Everyone deserves a place they can call home.”
The country icon’s song “You Can Always Come Home” will also be the Home for Good Project’s official anthem.
“When you’re a parent, if you have kids, [no matter] how old they are, you’re always going to take them in and take care of them, or whatever, so they always feel like they have a net,” Jackson says of the inspiration for the tune. “And so, when [my daughter] Ali left to [move to California], I wrote this song, and that’s kind of what it’s about, really.”
To kick off the Home for Good Project, Ply Gem and Jackson will be giving two grand prize contest winners airfare for two to spend the holidays with family. More information on the “You Can Always Come Home” for the Holidays contest is available here.
“We are grateful to Ply Gem and Alan Jackson for their commitment to raise awareness and make Builder Blitz a success,” says Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “In addition to providing home exterior products for Builders Blitz, Ply Gem’s communications efforts well in advance of the event will help connect more people to our mission of providing a foundation for families to build strength, stability and independence.”
