Eddie Montgomery’s Son Died Of An Overdose
It’s official: EDDIE MONTGOMERY’s son Hunter died of a drug overdose. Eddie’s ex-wife Tracy Nunan confirmed it with a statement on Facebook. And she only did it because the family was getting hounded.
She also asked that her entire statement be quoted, so that’s what we’re doing. Here it is: “When a family asks for privacy, there’s a reason. Grieving the loss of a child is the most heart-wrenching experience any parent can imagine. It defies description.
“Since the media refuses to respect our request for privacy, I’m taking another route in hope that we might get some peace for our grieving, and more important, in hope that Hunter’s story might help others. Our son died of an overdose.
“We believe it was accidental and will continue to believe that. We know that he needed help. Maybe Hunter’s and our family’s pain will help another family avoid this. Not a day will go by without our missing him.
“Now that your curiosity is satisfied, please have the respect to stop hounding us. Instead, take our story and use it to help others. ‘If quoted, this statement is to be used in its entirety.'”
Charles Kelley Wants You to Know Lady Antebellum Is Not Breaking Up
CHARLES KELLEY dropped a surprise the other day when he released a song called “The Driver”. Everyone immediately went nuts wondering if that meant LADY ANTEBELLUM is breaking up. Well, they’re not.
He made it very clear during a private show he did on Wednesday in Nashville. He said, quote, “I wouldn’t have done this without HILLARY [SCOTT] and DAVE [HAYWOOD] giving me their blessing. Lady Antebellum will always be my focus.”
And just to make sure, he drove it home it again: Quote, “Lady Antebellum will never [effing] break up, mark my words.” Another reason to believe him is that Hillary and Dave were actually in the crowd cheering him on. So there’s that.
Charles also talked about why he needed to do the solo thing in the first place. Quote, “I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone. It was so much fun to make music without any agenda, without any pressure. It felt like the beginning.”
“The Driver” is the first single from his solo album. No word when that’ll be out.
Reba McEntire, Little Big Town Members Surprise Nashville Club With ‘Jolene’ Cover [WATCH]
You never know who’s going to pop up where in Nashville. On Wednesday night (Sept. 30), Reba McEntire and Little Big Town‘s Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman surprised the crowd at the Basement East by joining up-and-coming trio the Shadowboxers for a rendition of Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene.”
The pop-funk group, made up of Adam Hoffman, Matt Lipkins and Scott Schwartz, has, since August, held a monthly residency at the Music City club. Wednesday night’s theme was “sweet harmony sounds,” according to the band’s website — and McEntire and the LBT ladies certainly know a thing or two about that. The red-headed country legend took the lead on the first verse, with Fairchild and Schlapman taking the lead on the second verse, and the Shadowboxers members adding in harmonies. Press play on the video above to watch their performance.
“This is us on stage singing “Jolene” with @reba and @littlebigtown. Don’t really know how else to put it,” the Shadowboxers posted on Instagram, along with a photo taken during the song, after the show. “So. Cool.”
Add Little Big Town on Instagram, “Well, this was amazing.”
The Shadowboxers’ Basement East residencies continue through December. In October, they’ll be covering Michael Jackson‘s Thriller in its entirety, while December’s set will feature their own tunes. Check out the trio’s website for more information.
