Check Out Keith Urban’s Behind-The-Scenes Process of Recording “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16”
KEITH URBAN released a behind-the-scenes video of the recording process for “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16“. It’s pretty cool because you see a lot of stuff that goes wrong, as well as moments of inspiration.
My favorite is him explaining how he decided to start the song with a bass hook, which I think totally sets it apart.
Country Music Hall of Famer Lynn Anderson Has Passed Away
Country music legend LYNN ANDERSON died of a heart attack last Thursday. She was 67. Most people know her ’70s crossover smash “(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden“ . . . but she had 18 Top Ten country hits between 1966 and 1989.
Things weren’t going well lately, though. She battled addiction issues, and got hit with a DUI last year after a car accident.
TIM MCGRAW honored Lynn by posting a video of him performing “Rose Garden”. It was recorded backstage in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday.
It’s that time of year again. KENNY CHESNEY is showing up at NFL training camps. This time it was the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Kenny’s tight with coach ANDY REID, and they posed for an Instagram pic together. He also had the pleasure of getting up close to watch the players go through drills.

Eric Church Shares New Song Inspired By His Son Boone McCoy at Nashville Acoustic Show [WATCH]
Eric Church opened Nashville’s new Ascend Amphitheater on Thursday night (July 30) with an acoustic show, but getting to see the “Like a Wrecking Ball” singer in that special setting was only one of the thrills for the evening’s audience. During the concert, Church debuted a new tune, inspired by his son Boone McCoy.
The sweet song features lines like, “You can be a cowboy on the moon / Or dig to China with a spoon / Talk to Jesus on the phone / Say ‘I love you’ all day long / But when you’re wrong, you should just say so / I learned that from a 3-year-old,” as well lyrics inspired by funny, real-life moments with Church’s oldest son. (Church and his wife Katherine welcomed their second son, Tennessee Hawkins, into their family in February.)
