When JOSH TURNER was recording his new album earlier this year he promised to stick with his “traditionalist” sound.  And now that it’s finished, he admits that he caved a little to keep pace with everyone else.

He says, quote, “The basic standards I’ve always held for my music still apply, but I’ve taken a step back and looked at today’s environment and how my music can fit.  I don’t follow trends, but I want to be a player in the game and continue to evolve as an artist.”

No word yet on a title or release date of the album.  You can listen to the first single, “Lay Low”.

Country Music Hall of Famer LYNN ANDERSON was involved in a minor car accident last week.  Although it wasn’t serious, she was charged with a DUI after admitting she mixed alcohol with prescription meds.  She also issued an apology.

Things have been tough for Lynn.  Last year she missed a GEORGE JONES tribute when her car skidded off the road.  And back in 2004 she was found passed out in her car on the side of the road.  She got a DUI for that too.

People.com is streaming BLAKE SHELTON’S duet with BARBRA STREISAND on the song “I’d Want It To Be You”.  It’s from her album “Partners”, which is out tomorrow. Or you can listen to it here.

Fox has cancelled the “American Country Awards” after four years.  They’re basically replacing it with the“American Country Countdown Awards”, which debuts December 15th.  FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE will be the hosts.
