BRAD PAISLEY and CARRIE UNDERWOOD gave their most subdued hosting performance ever, perhaps because of Carrie’s pregnancy. The big moment there was when she let Brad “accidentally” let it slip that she’s having a boy.

VINCE GILL was given the second-ever Irving Waugh Award. Big deal? Well, the only other honoree EVER was JOHNNY CASH. The video tribute featured Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard andJames Taylor
But Not the only big thing to happen to him this week.
KACEY MUSGRAVES’ “Follow Your Arrow” won Song of the Year . . . and her puffed-up hairstyle won the Internet’s “most talked about do.”

Another great moment was THE DOOBIE BROTHERS performing their classic “Listen To The Music”, along with Jennifer Nettles, Hillary Scott and Hunter Hayes.
One of the performances everybody wanted to see at the CMAs last night was Miranda Lambert singing “All About That Bass” with Meghan Trainor.
LITTLE BIG TOWN performed “Day Drinking” . . . and then they joined ARIANA GRANDE for her song “Bang Bang”.
Plus, GEORGE STRAIT and ERIC CHURCH teamed up to sing “Cowboys Like Us”. Old school meets edgy.
In other country music news…
JANA KRAMER made her first public statement since her breakup with BRANTLEY GILBERT . . . and she wasn’t very nice. She said, quote, “I was in a very unhealthy place and I picked very unhealthy relationships. I’m now in a healthy place and I’m very happy.”
